You may submit applications in any category by mail or courier, which avoids the inconvenience of waiting in line outside the High Commission.
Family class applications: All applications for sponsored family class members must be submitted to the Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Canada. For more information on how to pay and where to submit your application.
All applicants in the economic classes must submit their initial application to the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Canada. For more information on how to submit your application, please refer to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website.
The drop box is located in the waiting area of the Immigration Section of the High Commission in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. Your application must be complete and placed in a large envelope before putting it in the drop box. Cash payment is not accepted.
Applications may be submitted from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday, excluding holiday closures (may differ from local holidays).
Pick-up is usually five business days after you submit your application, between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., Monday to Thursday. You may be asked to attend an interview if additional information is required before a decision can be made on your application.
Applications received by mail or courier are generally processed within ten business days depending on the volume of applications received. Please include a pre-paid courier envelope. Applicants residing in Trinidad & Tobago may wish to use TT Post's convenient Track Pak Service.
