Remembrance Day

October 31, 2017

Dear Friends,

It is the custom of Commonwealth countries to hold a solemn ceremony on November 11th - Remembrance Day - to honour those that have fallen in past conflicts. These countries traditionally pay their respects at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month each year.

This year, once again, a number of the Embassies that observe Remembrance Day will hold a simple ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier located in the Park of Glory.  The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has kindly permitted us to use this site for our gathering. Members of various diplomatic missions and individuals from the expatriate community in Kyiv who observe the tradition of Remembrance Day will be invited to the ceremony, as well as representatives of Ukraine's Ministry of Defence.

I would like to extend to you an invitation to attend this ceremony which begins at 10:30 (and will end at approximately 11:15) on, November 11, 2017.  The Park of Glory is located on Ivana Mazepy (former Sichnevoho Povstannia) St., Kyiv.
