Embroidery on clothCurator Judith Varney-Burch brings together a selection of wall hangings created by the women of Baker Lake.

Canada’s only inland Inuit community sits at the mouth of the Thelon River on the shore of Baker Lake, Nunavut. Traditionally a gathering place for many different groups of Inuit, the community is now recognised for its fine arts and crafts. Prints, drawings, soapstone carvings, and wall hangings made by local artists are internationally renowned and collected.
