For British youth who want to explore opportunities for work and travel in Canada, find out whether you would qualify for one of the three youth mobility programmes.  It's a great way of getting to know Canada and making new friends!

The Canadian High Commission in London also administers youth mobility programmes for the citizens of Ireland.

Important Information for Working Holiday and Youth Mobility Programmes Participants

• The number of places on any of the following programmes is limited and given on a first come, first served basis subject to quota.
• Please note that a medical examination is not normally a requirement unless the employment is in health services, teaching, child care, or a related occupation.
• All participants must have medical and comprehensive hospitalisation insurance, including accident, life and repatriation coverage to remain in force throughout their stay in Canada. They must be able to provide evidence they have such insurance at the immigration officials at the port of entry in Canada
• Applications are dealt with on a first come, first served basis and not depending on the intended departure date
• Participants must meet admissibility and other requirements of Canadian immigration legislation and policy. Their primary reason for entering Canada must be to participate in a Working Holiday Programmes
• All applicants must pay the program participation fee of £90 or €95 (equivalent to $150 Canadian)

The Programmes Participation Fee (PPF) will be refunded to individuals (applicants) who have been found to be ineligible or inadmissible (i.e. on criminal or medical grounds). Should the applicant choose to withdraw his or her application before processing is finalised, the Programmes Participation Fee will be refunded. However, once the applicant has been issued a letter of authorisation (LOI), refund of the PPF will not be approved. Also, the PPF is not transferable under any circumstances: from person to person or from year to year.
