Development assistance

Canadian programing in Côte d’Ivoire aims at improving inclusive governance and gender equality. Various initiatives support women and girl’s empowerment and foster a more equitable access to social services, namely for sexual and reproductive healthcare, whilst promoting their economic independence, especially in rural regions. Canadian initiatives are in line with the G7 Charlevoix declaration on quality education for girls, adolescent girls and women in developing countries,

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Canada granted a significant support to help prevent the virus’s propagation, while providing immediate assistance for education and gender based violence initiatives.

In 2018-2019, the total Canadian international assistance to Côte d’Ivoire was $30.35 million. Consult the Project Browser for additional information on development programming in Côte d’Ivoire.
