Adult passport application presented outside of Canada /

Adults 16 years of age or over

You may use the Simplified Renewal form PPTC482 only if all the following conditions are met:

  • you were at least 16 years of age at the time of your previous application;
  • the name on this application form is exactly as it appears on page 2 of the current passport;
  • you hold a Canadian passport that:
    • is close to its expiry date or has expired February 1st 2019 or after (NEW);
    • was issued for five (5) years or ten (10) years;
    • is not damaged;
    • was never reported lost or stolen.

For all applications that are not Simplified Renewal you must have a guarantor.

If you have been living in France or the Principality of Monaco for less than two years and you do not qualify for simplified renewal, you must complete the “Declaration in lieu of a Guarantor” form (PPTC132). Please contact the Consular Services to obtain this document.

  • By mail:  It is highly advised to send your application by registered letter.
  • In person:all applicants wishing to submit a request in person must be at least 16 years of age.  If it is not possible for you to appear in person, a third party may submit the application under certain circumstances:  third party authorization.

    If you wish to apply in person, please make an appointment.

Attention Take note:
Passport and citizenship applications presented in person will not be examined at the reception counter of Consular Services.  The receptionist will transmit the applications to the file analysts.  Applications submitted in person follow the same procedure as those received by the post.

Processing Time

The processing time for a passport is 20 business days, upon submission of a duly completed file. However it may be longer during busy periods.
