Come Prepare Your Future in Canada!

The Embassy of Canada in France is pleased to present the Canadian Week, an invitation to discover Canada & its numerous aspects, from immigration programmes and business opportunities, to education, music… From June 21 to July 1, join us to prepare your future in Canada!

 


Tuesday, June 21st: NUIT BOREALE

Esplanade des Invalides (opposite the Canadian Cultural Centre)

Metro, RER, Bus: Invalides

From 7:00pm to 00:30am.

For the 5th year in a row, Canada will take over the Esplanade des Invalides to present Nuit Boréale, the 3rd largest event of the Fête de la Musique in Paris. From 7pm onwards, the public is invited to the Esplanade des Invalides for a musical journey across Canada’s new soundscapes, from British Columbia and New Brunswick to Ontario and Québec. Canada’s new folk, pop, rock and electronic scenes will come together on stage, with Philémon Cimon, Wesli, Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire, Busty and the Bass and Half Moon Run. And this year, Princess Century will light up Nuit Boréale’s turntables!

Thursday, June 23rd : DOING BUSINESS IN CANADA 

Canadian Cultural Centre

The Embassy of Canada to France will host a panel, moderated by Valérie Lion, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of special editions at L’Express, in the presence of Mr. Lawrence Cannon, Canadian Ambassador to France, with two French entrepreneurs about their Canadian experience, its challenges and successes: Mr. Jean-François Beuze, President of SIFARIS and Mr. Charif Hachem, President of Ecole IPSSI.

Rachelle Sorin, from the National Bank of Canada, and Fériale Loubardi, from Canadian law firm Dunton Rainville, will both give valuable insights into financial and legal matters, respectively. Officials from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will also attend the event and will answer questions.

A networking activity will be hosted after the discussion, with representatives from the Canadian provinces, including New Brunswick, Ontario and Québec, who will be available for one-on-one meetings.

Monday, June 27 and Tuesday, June 28: EDUCANADA OPEN HOUSE EVENT

The Embassy of Canada to France is organizing an open house event over two full days, dedicated to youth interested in studying in Canada. Representatives from a variety of education institutions from several Canadian provinces, such as Québec, Ontario, British Columbia and New Brunswick, will be present to answer questions, including internationally-renowned universities like the University of Montréal, Glendon Campus (from York University), the University of Moncton and the Thompson Rivers University.

Each of the following conferences will be hosted twice each day:

  1. Information session on studies in Canada
  2. University panel
  3. Technical colleges panel
  4. Language school panel
  5. From Assassin's Creed® to Time Square: the National Bank of Canada will host a presentation on “Technologies and entrepreneurship in Canada!”

Wednesday, June 29 & Thursday, June 30: CANADIAN MOBILITY DAYS

Mobility Days during Canadian Week is your chance to learn about the opportunities available to live and work in Canada!  The Mobility Days will feature a program of conferences, meetings with representatives of the Canadian provinces and recruitment by Canadian employers.

Meet with Canadian employers, representatives from the provinces and territories and immigration officers from the Canadian Embassy in France on their kiosks. In addition, a coaching area will be set up to provide personalized advice from Embassy immigration officers.

The programme also includes conferences on the following themes:

  • Understanding Canada’s immigration programmes
  • Approaching the Canadian labour market
  • Opportunities in Canadian provinces
  • They did it: Experience and advice from expats

Friday, July 1st: CELEBRATE CANADA DAY WITH US!

The Embassy of Canada in France invites you to come and celebrate Canada Day with Canadian music, Canadian beer, and real poutine prepared by our friends at the Great Canadian Pub in Paris! This festive celebration is where the Canadian community and friends of Canada in Paris will be on July 1st!

Saturday, July 2nd: MOBILITY FORUM   - STUDY, WORK,  LIVE IN CANADA

For the first time Canadian Week will travel to Lyon for a Mobility Fair on July 2nd focusing on opportunities to study,  work and settle in Canada.  Through conferences and exchanges, the goal of this fair is to present and explain, through constructive conferences and interaction, how you can prepare your future in Canada!

On site you can meet:

  • Canadian universities, community colleges and language schools whose representatives will present their study programmes and the positive aspects & advantages of post-secondary education in Canada.
  • Representatives from Canadian provinces who will share the opportunities available across Canada as well as the immigration programmes specific to each province.
  • Canadian employers looking for qualified candidates who will present the job offers for which you may apply.
  • Members of the Immigration section and Academic Relations department of the Embassy of Canada in France who can answer your questions and inform you about the steps you must take to study, work or settle in Canada.
