Message to clients

The Consulate General continues to provide full consular services to Canadians. We are also observing the Hong Kong public health authority’s recommendations for social distancing to reduce the spread of the novel coronavirus. 

As of September 14th, in person passport and citizenship application services are only available by appointment. If appointments are not available for the date required, applications can be mailed in or dropped off at:

Consular staff will contact clients by telephone or email to confirm receipt, or to advise of further actions required.

Emergency Consular Services continue to be available to Canadians by contacting and +1 613 996 8885 (call collect where available). During regular business hours, you may also call +852 2867 7348.

Appointments can be made through our Online System.

The Consular Section of the Consulate General of Canada located in Hong Kong is responsible for delivering services to Canadians living in both Hong Kong and Macao.

In an effort to better serve Canadians residing in Macao, we will visit Macao on a periodic basis to provide the following consular services:

  • Passport applications
  • Citizenship applications

  1. Please book your appointment through the Online system. An email address is required for the appointment confirmation.  You must present this confirmation upon submission of your application(s). If you are unable to book an appointment through our Online system,  please send an email to  and an appointment will be booked on your behalf.
  2. When booking appointments, please choose the service type accordingly.  If you are submitting 2 or more applications (maximum of 4), please choose “Family Passport Application” as your service type.
  3. Please ensure that passport applications are duly completed and all original documents are submitted.  If you are submitting an adult application, please provide the original plus a copy of the front and back of your supplementary ID.  If you are submitting a child application, please provide the originals plus a photocopy of both parents’ valid passports or Macao IDs (front and back) bearing the signatures which match the signatures on the application form. 
  4. Please pay your passport fee(s)in advance through our Online Payment system:  Service fees not available on our Online Payment system can be paid by credit card.  Please complete this credit card authorization form and enclose it with your application.
