Overview of Canadian Consular Services in Mexico

Mexico is the top sun travel destination for Canadians and our second most popular travel destination in the entire world, after the United States. In fact, in 2019 over 1.7 million Canadians visited Mexico, tens of thousands of whom were “snowbirds” coming to Mexico to spend the winter months, as they do every year. In addition, more than 50,000 Canadians reside in Mexico. In order to serve the large number of Canadians who visit or reside in Mexico, Canada has established the largest consular network that it has anywhere in the world, which includes 10 consular points of service throughout the country. The following infographs provide a snapshot of Canadian consular services in Mexico.
