Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

Due to ongoing concerns related to the spread of Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), preventative measures have been enacted throughout our global network of offices. Consular services remain available to Canadians. Many Government of Canada offices are encouraging clients to limit in-person visits. Canadians in need of assistance should contact the Embassy of Canada in Moscow:

PAY ONLINE before you apply for the following passport services:

  • Regular adult passports (5- and 10-year validity)
  • Child passports (5-year validity)
  • The administrative fee for replacing a valid lost or stolen passport ($45)

The Consulate General of Canada in St. Petersburg has closed to the public. Services previously offered by the Consulate General have been transferred to the Embassy of Canada in Moscow.

Security – Getting into the Embassy

When you visit the Embassy, you must present the original of your internal national passport or other suitable identity documents bearing photographs. When you visit the Immigration Section, you must also present an invitation letter from the Immigration Section requesting you to come in person.

Luggage, such as backpacks, suitcases or packages larger than a standard handbag, are not allowed into the Embassy. The Embassy offers no storage facilities and applicants carrying such items will not be allowed entry. If you are travelling with luggage, please secure it elsewhere before approaching the Embassy.

Applicants are also discouraged from bringing mobile phones or other electronic devices, such as Blackberries, iPods, PDAs and remote-entry automobile keys, to the Embassy.  Holders of such items will be delayed for searches and examination. 

Please note that food and drinks are not permitted within the Embassy. Still water is available in the waiting area.

The Embassy covers the countries of Russia, Armenia and Uzbekistan, and also provides visa services to residents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
