Canada and Liechtenstein enjoy positive relations and work together in many organizations around the world. These include various United Nations agencies, along with the International Criminal Court, and in the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). Liechtenstein has been a reliable partner for Canada in promoting human rights and the rule of law.
Since 2009, Canada’s trade relationship with Liechtenstein has grown thanks to a new free trade agreement with the European Free Trade Association, of which Liechtenstein is a member. The agreement gives Canadian businesses opportunities to establish and grow commercial ties all over Europe.
