Passport and Consular Services

Passport and consular services are provided at the High Commission of Canada, located in Canada House on Trafalgar Square in London. We encourage you to mail in your applications for passports and citizenship by traceable mail in order to limit in-person visits and to email us first at if you have a question before taking any unnecessary trip to Central London.

Visa and Immigration enquiries: All enquiries about visas for Canada, including enquiries from Canadian citizens who wish to sponsor their relatives to come to Canada are handled by the Visa and Immigration section.

Travelling to Canada?

Exemption for eligible fully vaccinated travellers

Starting July 5, there will be some exemptions for people eligible to enter Canada, who also meet specific conditions for fully vaccinated travellers. COVID-19 vaccinated travellers entering Canada.

Passport and Citizenship Applications

Clients should submit their applications to us by tracked mail or by placing in the drop-off box at Canada House. We no longer check and accept routine applications at the public counter. The current processing time is in excess of 8 weeks for passports and in excess of 18 months for citizenship applications.
