The Canada Gallery is delighted to present a temporary photographic exhibition featuring Canada’s far north.

Photo - Diavik Diamond MineIn March 2015, a rare opportunity arose for an international photographer to access the Diavik diamond mine, which is situated at 64 degrees north in the Canadian sub-Arctic.The timing of the trip was crucial; the photographer had to reach Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories to meet the last seasonal convoy travelling up The Winter Road over the ice before it closed for the season.

James Reeve was given unprecedented access to Diavik, above and below ground, to record the world’s most ethical diamond mine. This exhibition, supported by Rio Tinto, is his visual essay.

The Canada Gallery's ongoing programme is generously supported by the Dahdaleh Foundation, chaired by Victor Phillip Dahdaleh.
